Is It Curtains For Your Curtains?
Spring is a time for taking a fresh look at your decor. With longer and hopefully brighter days, now is a good time for new curtains and soft furnishings.
When the sun is still quite low in the sky it really can show how faded those old curtains are. Not only that, as we shake off the long winter, we look forward to warmer and more fruitful days.
At the moment I'm taking a great deal of inspiration from someone whose enduring contribution to interior design never fails to excite.
The range of fabrics and wall coverings produced in the latter half of the 19th century by William Morris, is truly without comparison and perfect for a spring spruce up.
Just take a look at the Kelmscott Tree design produced by Alison Gee and inspired by curtains hanging in Kelmscott Manor, the home of William Morris. Its delicate, precise and harmonious colours really do conjure up images of summer days to come...
